At night, when I say my evening prayers, I find myself asking this question often, “How much longer Lord?” Daily it seems, we like Lot, sit in the gates of the city and our spirits are vexed day in and day out. It’s not just that the world is going crazy, or that world leaders seem have been taken over by the body snatchers, but the “church” is not even discerning any more, she is apostatizing before our very eyes. Wake up Church!
Prophecy students have long expected the world to become more and more immoral, for hearts to grow cold, for men to worship the creation more than the creator…but did any of us expect to see the things we are seeing get this bad, before the rapture took place? After all, the restrainer is still here, how much worse can things get before He calls us home? Just how bad will things get when the restrainer is gone? Can you imagine, being that we see such unholiness today with the church still here?
Did you ever expect to see such things as bestiality written about in the daily news - and not be shocked? The moral slide into depravity has gone from the days of “free love“, to homosexuality coming out of the closet, to it’s being forced on us, to things that should not even be spoken of at all-and all of this in one generation!
The “world”, who rabidly is “anti Christ”, tout unabashedly that God created people “gay”. People, these are the folks that don’t believe in God in the first place, yet they use Him to excuse their perversion! They make claims that go completely against His nature, but no one calls them out on this? Sodom and Gomorrah were given to us as “an example”, yet today, we are worse than Sodom. Why? Because, it is not just the unbelieving world that should shock us out of our stupor, it is the “churches”! Today we see denominations that are now allowing openly unrepentant practicing homosexual pastors to lead their congregations! The world applauds the open mindedness, while the church yawns or worse-celebrates with them! We see a Catholic priest being hailed and praised for making out with his girlfriend on the beach, forced to leave his church, he quickly is accepted and is pastoring an Episcopal church. Not only that….his first service saw a three fold increase in numbers of pew warmers! Folks satan has stepped it up a knotch and we need to be on our knees and crying out for His deliverance. “How much longer Lord?”
I remember as a little girl, starting my day in elementary school in prayer. The 10 Commandments hung unashamedly on the wall, we got in trouble for chewing gum in class or talking without raising our hands. We had a righteous fear of authority, knowing we could get a swat for acting out, and our neighbors watched us as closely as they did their own children. If you acted up, your parents were going to hear about it-and you got it twice.
I lived in the mid-west and walked to school in snow blizzards, no it wasn’t five miles or up hill, but cold none the same. Back then, girls were not allowed to wear pants to school, but we could wear them under our dresses and remove them once in class so we weren’t too cold. Today, girls go to school half naked and that is not an exaggeration. We even had a University student who decided to go to classes just like that, naked. No students or professors spoke up. After some time, the Dean did call the student into his office and tell him that would not be acceptable any longer. No one spoke up as “they didn’t want to infringe on his freedom of speech”!
I am not that old, but I went from praying in class in elementary school to being given questionnaires asking about any experimentation with drugs, and my sexual habits by the time I was in High School! Thank you Johnson and Johnson. Today, children bring home books from elementary school about their unique families, like their “two mommies” or “two daddies”; they watch films about tolerance, and I don’t mean the Holocaust. The children today watch cartoons with characters that are sexually confused-for example a male cow with udders-his “mom” has none.
Do we really remember, “Never again”? How about, “those that don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it?” Remember when America was a “Christian nation”? Today, US President Barak Hussein Obama told a French newspaper that America is one of the largest Muslim nations! During his campaign he stated that the US was not a Christian nation. It’s quite a jump from our not being a Christian Nation to being one of the worlds largest Muslim nations in the world! Where is the outcry? I don’t get it? We “can‘t be a Christian nation“, but a Muslim one is ok? “How much longer Lord”?
We may not have much longer, the Bible lays out the decline of a civilization, I don‘t think there is much lower we can go? God gives man room, and time, to repent, but He tells us that there is a point when the sin comes to a full and the cup runs over, and judgment falls. Romans 1:18-20 says, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness: because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because when they knew God, they glorified Him not, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleaness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen For this cause, God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but take pleasure in them that do them.”
How much longer? I don’t think there is much time left, I pray not. What will the next generation look like should the Lord tarry? Will He surely find faith on earth? I see now why the Bible asks this question. Even those who use the name “church” today are taking pleasure in doing the things which are worthy of death, even denying our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Come Lord Jesus, we are vexed in our spirit day in and day out, just as Lot.
